Refund, Cancellation & Payment Policy

Version: 1.0
Effective Date: July 21, 2026
Last Updated: July 21, 2026

1. Purpose

This Refund, Cancellation & Payment Policy governs purchases made through Parkinson’s Teacher Training Academy (“PTTA,” “Academy,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), including courses, workshops, certifications, mentorships, digital products, memberships, books, and other educational offerings.

By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this Policy.

2. General Policy

PTTA encourages prospective participants to carefully review all program descriptions, schedules, prerequisites, technology requirements, and policies before registering.

Because PTTA provides educational services, limited-enrollment programs, and digital content, refunds may be limited after purchase.

3. Digital Products

Digital products include, but are not limited to:

  • downloadable manuals;
  • PDFs;
  • digital workbooks;
  • videos;
  • recorded workshops;
  • online courses;
  • digital resource libraries; and
  • other downloadable educational materials.

Once access to a digital product has been granted or a download has been made available, purchases are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

4. Live Workshops and Courses

Refund requests for live educational programs must be submitted in writing.

Unless otherwise stated in the specific program description:

  • Requests received at least 14 days before the scheduled start date may receive a refund less any non-refundable administrative fees, if applicable.
  • Requests received fewer than 14 days before the event may be eligible for a transfer or credit at PTTA’s discretion.
  • Once a live program has begun, refunds are generally not available.

PTTA may establish different cancellation deadlines for specific programs, which will be communicated at the time of registration.

5. No-Show Policy

Participants who fail to attend a scheduled program without prior written notice are considered “no-shows.”

No-shows are generally not entitled to refunds.

6. Payment Plans

Participants selecting a payment plan agree to pay the full program tuition according to the agreed payment schedule.

Withdrawal from a program does not automatically cancel remaining payment obligations unless otherwise approved in writing by PTTA or required by applicable law.

Failure to complete assignments, attend classes, or pursue certification does not cancel the payment agreement.

7. Books and Physical Products

Printed books and other physical products may be returned only if:

  • the incorrect item was shipped;
  • the product arrived damaged;
  • the product contains a manufacturing defect; or
  • otherwise required by applicable law.

Requests regarding damaged shipments should be submitted within seven (7) days of delivery and should include photographs of the packaging and product when available.

Shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the return results from PTTA error.

8. Program Transfers

When space permits, PTTA may allow a participant to transfer registration to another offering of the same program.

Transfer requests are not guaranteed and may be subject to administrative fees or scheduling limitations.

9. Program Cancellation by PTTA

PTTA reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, modify instructors, or change delivery format due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control or other operational needs.

If PTTA cancels a program before it begins, participants will generally be offered one or more of the following, as determined by PTTA:

  • transfer to a future offering;
  • credit toward another PTTA program; or
  • refund of tuition paid for the cancelled program.

PTTA is not responsible for incidental expenses such as airfare, lodging, lost wages, or other consequential costs unless required by law.

10. Chargebacks

Participants are encouraged to contact PTTA directly to resolve billing concerns before initiating a chargeback.

Initiating an unwarranted chargeback after receiving educational materials or services may result in:

  • suspension of course access;
  • suspension of certification status;
  • withholding certificates of completion;
  • denial of future enrollment;
  • referral to collections where permitted by law; and
  • recovery of fees and costs where permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this section limits any rights consumers may have under applicable law.

11. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Processing times depend upon the participant’s financial institution and payment processor.

Administrative processing fees, merchant fees, or non-refundable deposits may be deducted where disclosed and permitted by law.

12. Exceptional Circumstances

PTTA may, at its sole discretion, consider requests involving extraordinary circumstances.

Any accommodation made in one situation shall not constitute a waiver of this Policy or establish a precedent for future requests.

13. Policy Changes

PTTA reserves the right to revise this Policy at any time.

The version in effect at the time of purchase will generally govern that transaction unless otherwise required by law.
